Engineering Castings

Ballantine Bo’ness also manufactures a large range of engineering castings. We make castings for a number of different companies throughout the UK and our range is as large as it is diverse. We make everything from brake pads and brake drums for street cleaning machines, sprockets for potato farming machinery and splitter hubs for chain machinery to brake drums and firebars for the railways.

Our precision moulding and casting techniques, combined with our expert foundry skills, means we can create a vast range of castings for the engineering industry.

The key element of our engineering pedigree is the production of over 7000 different castings for the railway industry. We specialise in providing castings for the maintenance and project driven railway switches and crossings – some of which require up to 250 individual castings. Our in house pattern making, moulding and dressing skills are imperative in this work as Network Rail operate very strict tolerances so castings have to be within +/-1 millimetre to pass their quality tests. These castings are also made in a variety of metal specifications (metallurgy) depending on their application.

Drainage
Ballantine Bo’ness also offers a large range of traditional and modern cast iron drainage systems ranging from guttering and hoppers, to 15 inch interceptor traps and garage gullies. We supply drainage goods throughout the UK.
